Soulful, sometimes a tad melancholic drum 'n bass. Wanted to try something like Artificial Intelligence.. I didn't sample anything, if it sounds like AI then my plan worked perfectly :p Did that to teach myself about how it all works, arrangments, structures, etc... Of course I made it 'Djuna' style ey ;) (if I already have a style :p) Anyhow, hope you enjoy the song as I enjoyed making it... :) Greets

nice tune, that synth defenitely sounds like AI, really cool. like cruize said, try some reverb fx on those strings. imo one important thing that's missing in this track is the swing in the drums, sound a bit to static, should sound more fluid... maybe add some other percussion bongos or something, or maybe a drumloop with a nice swing, like those oldskool jungle breakz for example

melodies are nice quality wise but I would add more variation from the beginning. The vibe you get going from 3:40 should happen earlier I think. Like it!

that synth (with the LFO), hmmm did you sample it from Artificial Inteligence-desperado? anyways it sounds very alike (maybe thats just where you got your inspiration from) not that it matters to me, I like your song lots, tho that string in the background could use a bit more effects (sounds too obviously sampled now) maybe add some reverb etc... breaks are nicely done as well... very good track, imo your one of the technically better dnb producers from ebel... (certainly for the softer spectrum of dnb) maybe a few notes that are offkey... ow and that high frequentie bell-type around 4.15 is very nice too:) voila :D thumb up Edit: I read your discription now about AI, glad to know I know my classics ;)

(update!) Didn't sample anything, but I know, it sounds like it :p But I yeah, I tried to 'cover' it as good as possible, just for learning. How songs are build up, certain standards that are used, blablabla and so on. And it worked, for example now I know how to use automation clips etc. :p *sigh* Still a noob, man, still a noob..

well, thats the way to do it (and I'm not sarcastic here!) I did it as well in the past: take over structure, and style elements real good way to learn! about structure: make sure your bars are always a plural of 4: ex: 8 bar intro, 32 bar breaks, 4 bar climax, 4 bar some other form of build-up, 32 bar breaks.... I know its lame to hold yourself to some form of structural rules, but its for mixing purpases (and dnb is dj-oriented!) about the track: nice aditions (that synth around 3.50) real good vibes, just add some details: reverb, pan effects etc etc... try to vary your breaks to use other breaks from time to time... overall its a bit too long imo good job, you just need to get the hang of soundskulping, sounduse and mastering a bit more and you'll go places (and I'm not talking about going to the zoo in antwerp or something ;) )
