Been busy again this weekend... First attempt of a song with my new quad core... Big difference in CPU power... And still got margin ;) This is a deep - housey track with some ideas in it... Mixing is done in a hurry... I still got to work on this one.. Any directions anyone?:) Thx in advance for commenting and listening! Grts
me like it :D
Greetings Rabauw ! :) To be honest.. I haven't put much of an effort in the mixing of this track.. (As you can read in my introduction :) )... Nevertheless... I'll be able to test out a new bass vsti soon, and I'm hoping to get better bass sounds out of that one, because frankly... It has always been a problem to create 'real live flowing & sounding' basslines with the tools I have at my disposal atm... Nothing beats a 'real' bass... I'll give it a go soon as I have it.... hopefully with better results :) Thx again for dropping bye!
ha... thanks guys! I think I'll have to take a look at that 'intro' then hé ;) Still have to rearrange & take out the best bits... Tweak sounds, add extra details, etc... Work in progress :) Thx again! grts
Thx fellas!
me likes ! nice groovy bass... it makes me move nd now i want to go out... mistrohan
nice track i liked it thumb up
I got some remarks about your kick and bassdrum: I don't like the combination of them. They have nearly the same sound, it sounds as if your kick is also doing the basslines...or vice versa. It's very confusing and distracting. Even annoying I'd say. You can keep the kick maybe, but I'd definitely change the bass guitar. Also the bass guitar plays a lot of palm mute/short notes, which bothers me because it gives me a sort-of cartboard feeling...tis precies alsof ge op een kartonnen doos klopt ;). It's like your hitting a cartboard box. So, I'd suggest to change to another bass sound. Also, I think it would help not to play short notes all the time, but vary between that, and longer, continuing basslines, here and there countered by a palm mute or slide. That would give more variation, contrast and colour to your rhythm section I think. As for composition in general I think it's classic Funky style, very loungy and smooth. Sorry just had to share my remarks about the basses ;)
I agree, the intro sounds to poppy, rest is cool stuff
The intro was less my taste, but really man once the groove gets there it has a nice drive.Maybe pull up that bassline, could be twice as fat imho :) Good ideas once again.Thumbup and good luck with the finishing.
