The Science of Fiction Pt. I

It's kind of a soundtrack to a Si-Fi movie... but not quite... I'm quite happy with the result, although I have the feeling that something is a bit 'off'. Maybe it's the mastering? Tell us what you think. Enjoy!

Some really nice work here! I like it a lot. Maybe the mastering could be tighter but i'm not sure that's necessary... What you could do (just thinking out loud here) is adding some delays to the pling plong sound (hope you know what i mean here) at the end. I must say, you made a lot of progress since I last checked your music... Big up!

hey Dist!! long time man, too long... I think you mean the synthline at the end... maybe you're right... I already gave it some reverb, to fit/submerge it better into the rest of the sounds that are going on. but maybe some delay could help perform the trick, will try! Yeah, well, I've been tinkering around, and I've taught myself not to be satisfied with half-ass results anymore. And I'm getting the hang of mixing and mastering too, which really improves overall quality. Also, I got tired of making angry and noisy songs. It's not that I don't like doing that anymore, but I'm trying to bring in a lot more dynamics, parts where there is room for softness and quiet instead of just three minutes of loud and noisy... Well anyways, I could go on for hours, but I'll just say 'Thanks!' and leave it at that ;)

Too long indeed, but I'm back amongst the living now... Making music is all about following your inner flow. If you're angry or stressed or whatever, you are more likely to make harder tracks, good ones that is. If you are in a more peacefull state of mind you are more likely to make softer tracks. Whatever mood you are in, follow it and use it. It is a mistake to force yourself into making a specific type of track if you are not really feeling what you are making. We've all been there mate... And we come out stronger ! We should meet again one of these...
