I don't want discourage u with my remarks. I u think use sample in this proportion can be good, do it. but I think what with the time u will change and going in an other direction because sample can be as much reducer than useful in music .

Maybe you are right, i don't know. But how do you else get that oldskool/funky breakbeat effect? In my opinion it's a matter of choosing (not much)the right samples, and using them in the right way . I didn't use more than 5 short ones and edited them(again: the one at 1:40 is copied as it is). But can you still call a bass sound of 1 sec where i composed a melodie with a sample? And how can I get trumpets that sound realistic in another way? :s not with synthesizer. I think you hear it wrong? But you can also be right, i don't have that much experience as you have.
the bell @ 0.40 i would remove, very funky groove nevertheless, its hard to fit the elements together in funk imo, oh yeah ! thumbs up
what's wrong with using samples? the longest samples i use are like 3 sec or so,except of the one at 1:40, but i don't copy blindly, i edit the samples, if that is what you want to say.
u use too sample :\ use synthese create Your sample :( !
it's easy in this track to ear samples, where is your personality , i feel just sample pick up on internet :\. you can use sample but not like that.
