Subway Creep

NeonSoul

You know that feeling when you're all alone in the subway....but it seems someone is watching you...you start to get paranoid and before you know it...you turn your head around and that guy with the butcherknife you read about in the news, is right behind you!!! I tried to put that feeling in this track!

This is one hell of a creepy track. I loved every minute of it. It doesn't matter if this song has no Songstructure because the atmosphere here is fenomenal, and can bare the whole song. I love the way u use the soundscapes and create this chilly atmosphere. Great work!! One of the favorites

Lovely, creepy! Too bad the sounds aren't so clear.. Maybe you can add some variation with a string or an extra melody, or even samples from people panting or so.. (just an idea) Anyway, nice atmosphere!

"Midnight in the subway She's on her way home She tries hard not to run But she feels she's not alone Echoes of footsteps Follow close behind But she dare not turn around Turn around " That's a track by The Cure ( yéyé, me and The Cure again... ). To be honest, i think this song stays the same for too long... So each time, something ( a sound, or whatever ) grabs your attention, and then slowly, you're loosing your attention, and then something grabs your attention again, and then you loose it again, etc... while you should be focused from start till end, and make the listener believe that if he isn't gonna pay attention for 2 seconds, something will grab him by his throat. If i were you, i'd try to fill up the empty space with some more sounds, layers, effects... add some things people wouldn't expect, add lots of subtile details, those kind of things. I think when you want to make a track that's really scary, subtility is the most important thing there is. By making things change in the background, those things people hear but are not focused on, you can achieve a great deal of suspense!

the percussion bothers me a lot... not because I think it's bad and unfitting to the music itself, but to the story. As I always try to judge a song in the light of its purpose and how it correlates to the story behind it, I don't think there should be any percustuff in this song. I'm really sure it would be so much creepier without beats. The only percussive element I like is the hollow, reverbed pounding towards the end, like someone with boots is walking through the tunnel and approaching you. Maybe you can replace the beats by some paranoid breathing, or waterdrops from a leak..., and some chilly/windy noises here and there, to build more tension. And some blood guttering slasher sample at the end would've been cool too :)
