drum is my friend, most likely yours aswell tried some shizzle experimentation on the drumz, mainly velocity shizzle and quite some automation think the song isnt quite filled enough, but frankly i dont know what to do with it ^-^ any suggestions, as for genre i have no idea but my guess is somewhere between triphop & dub suggestions?
hello there.this song begins very nice but i would do some more work on the snares they kinda sound to clean,maybe working with an lfo on the filter would give them a better place in the mix.the feelings are good on this one for me.
aight i'll take that one in mind, btw i took in mind what you said the other time about textures, took an nnxt noise patch, played abit and was quite happy with the result.
yeah you can do some nasty things with noises:try to make drums out of them by using fx like ringmod(squeeky) or filters.also cool is to work with tiny snippets of samples and boost them up.you can even make a heavy housebass out of them with some nifty effects use.greets
Neither triphop nor dub if you'd ask me. Like you said yourself, it ain't filled enough, but a song doesn't always need to be filled up to the rim to make it sound good. I think you can go for some nice ambient here, if you'd lose the snares and bring the synths some more upfront.
well, the genre question i dont really get it my self. perhaps i'll try to make an ambient version, never really thought about making ambient though, but i'll give it a shot ^-^ as for ambient, i dont know much about it to be honest, are there any like 'guidelines' which construct the basics of an ambient track like overwhelming pads and a song filled with background textures?
the only thing that matters is, to follow your heart. Genre ain't that important, and the mods usually know in which category to put it so i wouldn't worry about that. What's more important is to play with your heart...
