could you help me, got stuck on this one. What could i do to finish it?
last time you did a techno track,i had same thing in my mind>> you overdid,the kickdrum people always asume,by pumpin bass ,into a kickdrum,running through a compressor>>they get a fat bass(no corelation) its just the oposite,pay atention,i'll gone say this only once(again,lol) make a curve upwards,around 200-80k>the punch zone-hearable bass make a 2nd curve downwards,depending on the colour ,that ya want,cut the bass,from16k-40k,sometimes,small curve is enough,again>depending of the warmth you want because>>eq-first,then compress(not limiting) so we are stuck with all that we want of a kickdrum,if we run it through the compressor,it magnify's our sweet left over product;bass,with lots of punch (headphones are not wanted in this proces),also dont run it through a stereo enhancer,if so>> go for mono,no further spreading learn to think like this,when there's less xxx there's more room for yyy cause eventualy,if ya ad a vocal or piano,there's bas in them too;not to speak of a bazeline all great theorectics; this is the only thing i could say,about your last techno songs; the rest ,i dont like so mutch,i leave that up,to my taste-own vieuw;sometimes its dificult to explain; i just had the feeling,that the weird melo's,could be better if,they were a bit spreaded,so it plays slower and it dident sound so minimal,very dry,no effects a sugestion,try to make crawling hi-hats(d.digler-dub-taylor);in this kind of song,it could work; hope you had some benefit from the turetorial;or anyone else for that matter; greetz
I see a lot of helpfull stuff here in cqi's comment, but i'd like to suggest to use more background 'airy' stuff. Some hihat/shaker kinda thingies to give it more of an up-down shake. Now it's like it only goes up (with the kick). And, yea, the kick it too overwelming. Imo, a kick should stay out of the dance--if you know what i mean. I hope i helped.
allright...a stoned suggestion: make a beatbox bassline, i mean sing and record da bass line, will give a solid special touch or a break with beatbox. dont ask me why lollll anyway good minimal shit
To me, these are just basics....COuld be so much more to it I think.... Got the feeling its missing things...But hé...you can't but try to find out more bout it... So..it's cool to see that you enjoy lots of kinds of muze... Wish I could give you some concrete tips like cestqui did, but i'm like to noobish for that... ANyway, nice effort! Grtz
I like the global feel of the track! great sequences!! I specially like it the middle of the track, when the kick drm stops! Why don't you try to replace that binary techno kick by something more deconstructed? the rest of you drum/perc track is really cool! for me , it's just the binary & repetitive feel of yer kick that eliminates a bit the complexity of yer rhythm track! Make it look more IDM!! ;) peace!
like the theme! you 'd better drop the melo-changes and make the track harder (en lomper).
so many advices = so many different advices it's clear that in music you never can please everybody I'll keep in mind what fits my first conception of the song, though adding and dropping some elements.

thx for reviewing this once more... still have to make some changes...but you know, got so many things running at the time i don't have time to focus on older stuff. Will try to work this one out though cuz want to focus on the more dance-able stuff and i've got a good basis for such a song with this one...
