this is my entry for the schall-netlabel remix contest 2008. original by zzzzra. except for the drums and the additional bassline, only the original samples were used. best listened to at full volume, especially at 4:07. (remixed with noisetrekker 2 - 118bpm)
I guess it was not really the style that Schall was looking for. I'm somewhat disappointed, though it was fun doing it... and that's the whole point. Thanks for listening.
Thanks for the warning to keep the volume up. ;] I really enjoyed the clean warm bassy sound. You have so many tracks here, it would be appreciated if you pointed out to me which ones are in the same style of this one. =)
couldn't agree with you more.. It is always a big challenge to make something personal out of given material. yours has a good flow... hope you get selected.. or mine!
the only reason i can come up with why this was not selected is because they got tons of zzzzra remixes.... this is good work, i like the approach, very ' emperor-sly ' stylée
listened on higher volume now... wohow, very cool remix, really... powerfull and mysterious at once. That part after 407 is indeed very dance-able and needs full volume. I like it far better than mine but of course, they are to very different genres.
thanks guys. regardless if i win or not, i enjoyed working with someone else's samples towards a deadline... we should have more of these contests.
