In 2004, Da Minou and me were running through the streets of Brussels with heavy ghostbuster-like handcraft systems on our backs composed of car batteries, cables, contact microphones, volume buttons and a minidisc recorder. The piece called "Vents Devant" is a clear example of what we were searching : live amplified city sounds to make sort of field recordings. This one is a part of the improvisations we made at home. A few weeks later, I gave this piece to Christophe Bailleau who wanted to make a compilation of electronic and electro-acoustic music only based on mouthd sounds and he accepted even if you can't heard many voice noises... (compilation "Bain de Bouche", 2005 on Flexible Edition with: TANGTYPE, JEAN-LUC DIETRICH, SOGAR, CHRISTOPHE BAILLEAU, OLDINE, TECHNIQUE DE SURFACE, MITCHELL AKIYAMA, KÖHN, SEBASTIEN ROUX, CYLENS and aMUTE) I still have a few copies for 5euros/piece... hurry up! lolll on this track TECHNIQUE DE SURFACE are: DA MINOU: Tesco, contact mics, objects, mixing and final edit. BOB SLEIGH: contact mics on fruits, television, objects and himself. (attention au copyright, les chéris!!!)
