Pretty impressive if only for a demo... I think the end mix is still a bit rough/dodgy, maybe a bit overmastered? I suppose you'll pay more attention to it and fix that later. I liked the sad strings a lot but they do come in quite loud, you're end levels in the mix aren't quite balanced, I think the strings are way too much on top of things. But like you said it's a demo to give a first impression, well, I was impressed by the feelings in the song. Now you just gotta fix the mixing.
