Spirit

Spirit is an improvised piece. I made it just for the fun. In this piece, i recorded one by one : 1) A bunch of keys (Which a made turn around the mic) 2) A small spoon who knock against a water glass, knocking : once on the full surface, once on the empty surface. (In bottom and top) 3) And a ruler which knock against a made ashtray of glass. And of course, there is the flute, piccola flute. It's me which blows in the flute, with small jolts of tongue, thus creating this jerked sound. Twice, you will hear a small "booom" which wastes a little the piece : In fact, the keys knocked twice on the mic !! It was not easy. I had to start again several times, but both "booom" were the minimum on all the test. That's why i kept THIS recording. These sounds, as in "you can do better" are played in the same time, under the software. All the element which are played are the juxtaposition of each elements that i have improvised and recorded in "live" one by one. (Glass,ashtray,keys,flute) But to stay in the rytme, i had to record one (exemple, the keys) while i listening to the other (exemple,the glass) and so on, until putting the unit to simultaneous reading. The title "Spirit" was added afterwards, it does not have particular significance, but the flute associated with the others noises make me think to a "spirit" It's a little bit stereotyped but it's a piece improvised and...i had to find a title and ...you know..a flute, this , this and this hoo!! spirit... lol Have a good spiritual time...
