We all live next to each other. Blindfolded, just thinking about ourselves. How many know their neighbours? The streets are filled with brainless people, all rushing to get somewhere... nowhere. At night we just sit in front of the tv, absorbing that which others want us to absorb. We all want to achieve something, so few however really know what. Who still says hello to the ordinary man in the street? Instead of living together, we live next to each other... A song about the degression of social culture, about the depressed and the lonely, about... us. An acoustic/orchestral track, with some experimental touches, time changes. A few elements deliberately clash, just to get the message across. Duration: 4:23 ---------------------- OPACITY: Night and day, sorrow haunts you In twilight dark, your opacity Night and day – and inbetween Sorrow haunts you – talk to me In twilight dark – no solace Your opacity – draw a veil No solace for the lethargic state you’re in Drain your mind in front of a flashlight The cycle repeats itself Cell by cell, particle by particle The body deteriorates Tv meals and empty plates Count on the fingers of one hand the people You talked to last week Much blabbering, but did someone say something that actually made sense? Whatever happened to smilin’ faces? I don’t see them all too often If you hear these words I hope they’ll make you think Either live for the moment Or have the moral shrink Moving back instead of forward Holding on to your distrust Thinking no one ever gives a damn about... ...you and your misery Me and my little song If I ran into you Would you say hello to me? Night and day – and inbetween Sorrow haunts you – talk to me In twilight dark – no solace Your opacity – draw a veil

Hehe, death metal :) Well yes, I did sing it myself. As for articulation, I'm glad you like it. I have a Master degree in English, that might explain it a bit, but if you'd hear me without the music, I'd still have a Flemish accent of course :)

Nice, especially piano at the end... (Don't forget to praise the brainless people, they teach u how NOT to become... ) ;-)

Well sounds like you generated voice from a program. However if you sung it i am impressed by your articulation. Too much effects for a downbeat song, sound more like death metal singing than something that would go with the music !

I don't like it so much, but it's ok. I think the overall problem is that either it's too repetitive, either just the samples used are too tweaked to have a harmony. Even though composition in general is good, i really disliked the sample you used to play the melodies. The voice sounds too synthetic, you can hear it's generated. I still give it a + vote cause the lyrics really speak to me :)

Thanx folks! Bedlam: what exactly do you mean with "generated", for the voice? I don't quite get your point there...? You mean like, too much effect on the voice, or what?
