Well here's another electropop song. I started this one in March 2007, took me a year to finish it, been working on it on the rare free moments. I started this one with a basic idea on which I put a few modulations, I wanted to see what the result would be of a musically rather simple track, combined with a (what I consider to be) strong structure. Quite satisfied with the result, an uptempo track. Not the ultimate hit of the universe of course, but I've come to like this song a lot. The song speaks in a rather sarcastic way about people who use a period of mourning to engulf themselves in self-pity and sorrow, and how they would use the loss of someone close to them to put themselves in the spotlight as vulnerable beings, without even the slightest of efforts of trying to move on with their life. I have to say that listening to kaoz/SOL19 has been a big inspiration to make a new electropop song. All criticism welcome...! ----------------------------------- The time has now come to Put the pain aside, return to sunlight I’m sure enough time has passed to mend your broken heart Get on with your life, now all your tears have dried We’ll help you revive the joy in your frozen heart So what did you expect? That all the world would end? I’m sure enough time has passed to mourn over the loss Pull yourself together, put your head up straight And give a new shot at luck at daybreak The time has now come to put the pain aside... Put the pain aside... And through self-pity you just keep craving for our compassion Abuse the loss of our friend as a means to get attention In a deep dark alliance with your own fear And there’s no comfort in what we tell in your left ear Put the pain aside...
I like the main synth, but when that arpeggiator opens (to loud?) , the song becomes a litlle crowded, to my taste that is.. I like the bassline you put on.I don't think it's weird to hear this song from you, the start with the vocals on 1.15 is typical, and i must say that was the part i enjoyed most.Nice work and thumbup offcourse.
thanx folks!
wreed wijs :D not realy my kind of music once again, but hel it sounds nice! congrats, mate!
Thanks everyone! hmm yeah maybe the clean pop sound is something new for me...I actually didn't realize it myself until you guys pointed that out. I didn't really think about that, I just started working and this is what came out. And yeah it's a challenge to keep trying new things.
Love your voice !!!
yeah, second listening and now I can put some kind of band on this one, and a peculiar album: moonspell's sin/pecado! it's the same strange feeling I get: synths + dark voice. In particular, the song Eurotica gave me such a feeling. Nice structure using the same bassline trough the whole song. Maybe could use an extra element to keep it interesting although I think it's a choice you make: you can keep it simple as it is and it won't hurt too. In fact that's maybe always like that: simple things have stronger structures, but sound simpler, so you always have to decide a little bit what you're going to do with it. Afijn, na al dat gezwans hehe: fijntje, thumb up!
GAY! =) Nice track man... but idd the vocals should be a bit more upfront
not my cup of tea, but well crafted... my remark would be to put the vocal a bit more upfront, just a notch... good technical work
hmm^^ wierd to hear this sound from you. the whole thing fits well, alldough the voice is a lil to much on the back ... good job on the text!
you have missed "hard guitar" on this mr Rabauw.... :)) very cool progress....and prod just the little break at +/- 2'08 the sound of the synth is a little "cheap"....imo (mmmm solo guit???) koikilenswa +++
